“As 2020 unfolds, I have been thinking about ways to recalibrate and to contribute. This time has also allowed me to reflect deeply on the precious values passed down to me by my elders.

I worked on these tracks while on quarantine. Even though these compositions are a continuation of ideas that I’ve been developing for a while, they are very much of this time and place.

Reverence for education through culture was instilled in me by my family and community since childhood. I am convinced that the arts are indispensable for our growth and fulfillment as human beings - a way of life that also has the potential to foster respect, tolerance and harmony. Perhaps many of the ills of our broken planet would not exist today if the arts were widely considered essential. As long as I am able, I intend to keep on exercising my creativity to express myself, to communicate, to learn, to grow, to survive. Thank you. Back to work.”
